Below is a sreenshot of the full list taken from FIFA:
Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has made some weird decisions concerning the squad which will be for action for the World Cup 2010 Qualifiers. He has omitted the following important players:
1) Sunderland midfielder’s Andy Reid
2) Bolton’s Joey O’Brien
3) Barcelone’s Steve Finnan
4) Stoke’s Rory Delap
The final composure of the Republic of Ireland Squad is as follows:
Given (Newcastle), Kiely (West Brom), Murphy (Scunthorpe); McShane (Sunderland - on loan at Hull), O’Shea (Manchester United), Dunne (Manchester City), Kilbane (Wigan), Bruce (Ipswich), Delaney (QPR), Foley (Wolves); McGeady (Celtic), Andrews (Blackburn), Gibson (Manchester United), Whelan (Stoke), Duff (Newcastle), Hunt (Reading), Miller (Sunderland), Keogh (Wolves); Keane (Liverpool), Doyle (Reading), Stokes (Sheffield United), Caleb Folan (Hull), Long (Reading).
Wonderful news for Australia as the trio Harry Kewell, Vince Grella And Mark Bresciano are back for action. But Australia coach Pim Verbeek is now worried about Grella who is suffering from a hamstring while playing for Blackburn last weekend.
Fortunately as a backup plan, Pim says midfielder Carl Valeri who returns from suspension could replace Grella. So they should be pretty comfortable for their incoming World Cup 2010 Qualifiers against Bahrain.
Other noticeable news is the call up of goalkeeper Adam Federici. Veteran players once again proved that their versatility and key role are intrinsic to the success of their team.
