Diego Maradona Officially Crowned As New Argentina Coach
Big news for El Diego’s fans; the legendary Argentina football player has been officially crowned as Argentina’s new coach by the Argentinian Football Association in BUENOS AIRES. This contract would probably hold till the end of South Africa World Cup 2010, should the team succeed the qualifying rounds.
Carlos Bilardo has also been chosen as the technical secretary of Argentina’s Team by the AFA president, Julio Grondona. It has to be noted that Bilardo was the Argentina coach when Maradona brought them to World Cup glory in 1986. So this would be a close work relation between the two.
Maradon said:
- “Being the coach of the national team coach and being alongside Carlos is an honour for me”
- “I will do my best to succeed. We will work every day to make Argentina have a better national team day by day. I thank Julio, my family and my daughters.”
Now, Diego can concentrate on his first encounter against Scotland on the incoming 16th November.
