Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has made some weird decisions concerning the squad which will be for action for the World Cup 2010 Qualifiers. He has omitted the following important players:

Wonderful news for Australia as the trio Harry Kewell, Vince Grella And Mark Bresciano are back for action. But Australia coach Pim Verbeek is now worried about Grella who is suffering from a hamstring while playing for Blackburn last weekend.

Fortunately as a backup plan, Pim says midfielder Carl Valeri who returns from suspension could replace Grella. So they should be pretty comfortable for their incoming World Cup 2010 Qualifiers against Bahrain.

Will Japan Be Able To Make It To The World Cup 2010 Qualifiers Without Their Backbone Players Yuji Nakazawa, Shunsuke Nakamura And Seigo Narazaki?

Sad news for Japan as the team suffers from the absence of three key players, namely Yuji Nakazawa, Shunsuke Nakamura and Seigo Narazaki. Their trip to Qatar for the World Cup 2010 Qualifiers sounds perilous and full of doubts. Nobody would like to be in the hot shoes of the Japanese coach Takeshi Okada at the moment. It’s a very very hard time for the Japanese team who made their first World Cup finals in 1998.

Key defender Yuji Nakazawa and first choice goal keeper Seigo Narazaki are confirmed to be out of the squad as they suffer from a groin strain and ankle injury respectively. But Shunsuke Nakamura who is recovering from a knee injury, is still uncertain for being match fit. All is not going good for this Japanese team.

Ronaldinho Recalled In Selecao By Brazilian Coach Dunga

Ronaldinho, the ex-world’s best player and the prolific Brazilian samba boy was left out, by coach Dunga, for previous World Cup 2010 Qualifiers, notably against Portugal due to unsatisfactory performance. But Ronie’s recent performance is getting better, he scored decisive goals for his last 6 matches with AC Milan; and yesterday once more he scored the only winning goal. Is this a sign of the come back of Ronaldinho? The answer could lie with the new decision of Dunga recalling Ronaldinho back in the Brazilian team for the incoming 2010 World Cup Qualifiers.Dunga said:- “He will stay at Milan to do more training and play more matches because before the Olympics (in Beijing) he was sidelined for four months,”
- “It’s better for him to play for Milan so he can return to the national squad in good condition next year because he is irreplaceable.”

Manchester United And Liverpool Honored By The Visit Of The Argentina Legend Diego Maradona

Last friday, 7th November, Argentina’s new coach/manager Maradona paid a visit to England’s Manchester United and Liverpool football clubs. The aim of this visit was to meet and discuss with Carlos Tevez (man utd’s forward) and Javier Mascherano (liverpool’s midfielder). And the visit was a success, everyone, including the players of both teams, was excited and pleased by the visit of the world’s magical and prolific player of all time, Diego Armando Maradona. Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United’s central defender, received a signed shirt from El Diego as a gift for his 30th birthday. Rio expressed his emotions:
- “We were like schoolkids around a star coming to school”
- “In my eyes he is the best footballer ever. He is one of my heroes, if not the shining beacon when I was a kid. I had all his videos. He was the player everyone wanted to be”
- “He has been the best. He was my idol and part of the reason I started to play football. I can’t hold him in higher esteem than that. To be able to shake his hand, get a cuddle off him and a picture, it made my birthday.”
