Church Of Maradona, as they call it, are a group of die-hard fans of Maradona. They celebrated their all time soccer star, Diego Maradona’s, 48th birthday. This had to be a duel celebration following Maradona’s introduction as the new Argentinian team coach. And for those who the know the history of Diego, whenever he’s back in the team, there’s always hope of winning something.

The church was founded by a group of friends in Rosario, situated north of Buenos Aires. But founder Marcela Amez stresses that they are only a ‘football church’ and nothing to do with the traditional church. I bet you thought it was a real church?

Church Of Maradona consists of more than 120,000 members and a dozen more was ‘baptized’ on Wednesday and how was it done? I let you find the answer on Herald Tribune’s article - The Global Edition Of The New York Times; Enjoy!
