World Cup 2010 Insurance Taken Out By FIFA
Despite, the convincing claims that the World Cup 2010 would take place in South Africa, FIFA have admitted that they have taken out insurance should the event not take place as expected.
FIFA took a £420million insurance policy for any abandonment of the 2010 and 2014 finals in South Africa and Brazil, respectively.
Jerome Valcke, FIFA general secretary, argues that such insurance concerns remains a standard practice since previous World Cups. Read more here..
